Is it ok to make this a trashy political thread? Or will I break a rule if I respond to the lurker above me?
-edit- I appreciate that it shows disrespect for the initiator of this thread and for those affected by the earthquake. A C Doyle - The White Company |

But all joking aside, Glad it was a small quake, and so far I haven't heard of any real damage (except to the National Cathedral). So as long as there are no injuries or major loss, earthquakes are kinda fun... But they can be quite serious... For our east coast friends, I'll keep hoping that's the worst you'll see...
Side note: I heard about some of the panicking in NY and I could only wonder how bad they would freak at like an 8.0 City would go NUTS (and rightly so...). I feel the most for people that live/work in high-rise buildings... I have been shot at once and stabbed twice, and frankly the thought of being in a swaying high-rise terrifies me much worse... |

Sorry if my joke offend you, I didn't mean for it to be offensive. Just a joke I heard earlier in the day and thought it might be nice to share some humor. I have no intention of making this a political mockery... This is an anime site, and politics don't belong.. But it was something that made me chuckle to hear, and I thought to share it... Sorry if it bothered you (or anyone else), but in times like that, a little humor can really help people.. |

I am not offended, and I participate in spirited political arguments quite frequently. In honesty, though, you have to admit that only a certain segment of the population would find that joke funny. And the rest of us would be tempted to correct the mistaken belief that it is based on.

As for the joke, well, the fuhrer bit was needlessly inflammatory but the rest was no worse than any one-liner in some late night talk show monologue, so I have no idea what the big deal is and got a big laugh out of it myself, along with several others of various political orientations I shared it with. People who have gotten to dish out much, much worse for so many years certainly ought to be able to take such a little bit. |

I felt Nothing! and I was in NJ. Everyone felt something. I was in an office building (ground floor) and Nothing! - everyone, the news, people, kids, whomever ALL felt something - total b.s.
Then again I was completely relaxed during 9-11 watching it on TV then went out and got Taco Bell around 11 am met a girl I know at the Mall. Hmmmm - I went to Taco Bell today to. Oh well - when the Aliens come or there's an assassination of someone or a Tornado I guess I know where to go now. Quote:
The Quake originated in Virginia so I don't know who we can goof on or blame for the Quake.....except Langley (the C.I.A) is in Virginia. Maybe it was a top-secret Time Machine test run?? Or an After-shock ripple from the Philadelphia Experiment in the 1940's (look it up). In the end it's just America's 'Fault' - ha! ![]() |
