Greetings fellow AT and avid anime lovers!

Would you go? o_o

Would you be a regular customer?

What would be some pro's and con's that you can list for having a Maid Cafe in the Toronto area?

Upon noticing a distinct lack of a maid cafe in a place such as multicultural Toronto, my friends and I have decided that it may be worth a business venture to invest in to restarting a maid cafe here in Toronto. (There had been ONE - but it failed due to bad food...)

But we think we can do better!

Probably not, since I can't be seen doing that in public and since 3D maids, meh might be appalling.

You know it's funny, it doesn't appeal to me that much but I have a few Asian girlfriends who I know are interested. They are not into anime or otaku culture at all, but they love the idea of a maid cafe. Also try capturing the Korean crowd, that may work for you, at yonge and finch there is a princess cafe that is pretty popular.

Well...I visit Toronto once a year during Christmas because I have relatives up there...so yes I'd probably go. No, I wouldn't be a regular customer. The Pros would be...well...it's a maid cafe...XD

The cons, probably that you might see less business BECAUSE it's a maid cafe. Sure, you'd get the otakus, perverts, and occasional curious person who ends up enjoying the place(Note, I fall under 1 and 2. XD), but most of those people might come to your cafe anyway if the food is good. Another con would be you might be shutting out most of your potential female customers. I can't say all, because I know a few of my female friends would love to go to a maid cafe(but I have some pretty abnormal friends in this sense. XD). But a majority of them would probably be turned off by the sexism of the cafe.

Honestly the cons I see are more in how much you care about stuff like that. If you'd rather only target males then there aren't really any problems. If you'd like to attract as many people as possible might I suggest making it Maids and Butlers?

Anyway...those are my two cents. Good Luck with your idea. ^_^

Im under the impression such a place would get extremely little business...unfortunately. However a simply manga-reading themed cafe would be pretty cool.

..Well, if that cafe is a succes and more cafes come worldwide in america..They might go to europe aswell and then yeah.

I recall there was one once in Scarborough by the name of imaid cafe. And well it failed to keep open. It had cute asian waitresses, but even that was not enough to keep it open.
