Default What's your impression on tattoos?? - 07-27-2011, 12:07 AM

Just curious on what you think about people/yourself with tattoos.

For my case, I've got an tattoo on my shoulder back to cover my severe burn marks from an accident. It really can't be helped because the marks looks so damn guro that I had to cover it with something which in this case, tattoo was the solution.

People don't say much about it except, sometimes in the beach or changing room at gyms, I get the "looks" from majority of people and I can feel that they are kind of avoiding me. Even some of the people that I know are kind of avoiding me because of tattoo on my back.

I know that for most countries, when dealing with tattoos, you immediately relate to gangs and thugs. Which, is kind of negative for me but not a lot.

IMO, most people who gets tattoos (except for gang members and fags who thinks tattoos are cool) have reasons behind it and yeah, really other people should not judge the person by outer appearance. Its not actually intimidating or anything but, I guess in most cases, tattoos are perceived as unethical.
However, I'm lucky that I live in a country where most people accept and acknowledges it. If I was in my home country, I would have gotten countless discrimination and prejudice treatment.

Anyway, I know this is not a big issue or anything, not as severe as the other thread that I made about having anime hobby.

So what's your thoughts on people having tattoos?

I like tattoos but PERSONALLY I only like a few of them or just one or two. It's not like I'm saying you shouldn't have more than that cuz fuck the world and do what you want lol. I still want to get one myself but :effort: and :money:

Personally I would have kept the burn mark. I stopped counting all the stitches and staple marks after I reached 500. I like my scars cause I earned everyone of them. Though I have more then most. Broken bones and scars are just one more thing that make up who we are.

Just read the sig.....................

The problem with tattoos is they fade over time and a faded tattoo just looks like crap. It's best to keep them small so they can be easily touched up again later on. Still, I'd sooner wear a pendant or a T-shirt, hell even a wall painting is more in stride with my tastes. Skin just isn't the best canvas to do artwork on. It's oily, changes shape over time, and god forbid if it gets infected.
