Internet caps are okay depending on what they limit. If they only counted upload for the usage I would be fine. 5 years ago it used to be 80gb soft cap (they do not charge if you go over). Now the same company gives 25GB cap for 15Mb/s download profile with overage charges of 2.50$/GB.

This is absurd and really stupid.
How are the caps for internet providers in the United States?

I think I'd probably be happy with 300Gb for general use. If you download 1080p blurays... that's another story.

No caps here, i constantly download stuff on the mac and stream stuff to my appletv, yes i stream movies and shows, i dont watch cable or satellite, and my home phone is VOIP, so all of the traffic i make is made by the internet, my router measures that my traffic influx is around 300~400GB per month.

Well streaming to an appletv really doesn't count since your just doing it locally. But yeah same here i download my torrents everyday and stream them via my ps3 or just hook the tv straight to an hdmi cable

Well guys, good news. A nerd fixed my 1TB HDD (well, got it lasting long enough to make an image of it) so now I can copy all my anime to my computer. I've only lost a few shows (most memorable are A-Channel and Marchen Awakens Romance) and I think I can get them with ease.

Looks like this thread has a semi-happy ending after all (a perfect one would be us switching ISPs)
