Angry Which ISP do you use and why do you hate or love it? - 02-19-2011, 11:38 AM

I suddenly asked myself that question after i moved places because i was unaware of which one was available in my area. I then realised i was stuck with telstra, the worst network i could possibly even think about using, but im stuck with it. (only they provide the lines where i moved). Others might not know (or are in denial) but telstra is known for its horrible customer service, constant issues and lack of educated employee's. I sure hope i wont have to go through a similiar situation again in which i am repeatedly asked by someone from the middle east if my computers power plug is connected in when my net doesnt work.

I am currently downloading as much as i can while at work because i think telstra forgot to connect our net.

So enlighten me people, allow me to endulge myself in your isp adventures.

P.S im half asleep while writing this, moving a whole house with 2 cars and a tiny trailer isnt easy you know. (stupid stubborn father).

And im finishing work now so i gotta get back to the telstra shit hole

I have Time Warner Cable, with a 7Mbps d/l rate with no bandwidth cap. I have been generally happy with them, with minor problems here and there. There is faster internet providers in the area, but the cost goes up significantly.

TPG ftw
I reckon TPG is pretty good when it comes to mobiles,(i use a tpg sim myself) but im not sure about their internet, installation is still pretty expensive even if they do have cheap monthly fee's. Hows their service? The speed looks slower than most. (Id post a speed test result as well but im at Net Solution right now so the speed here is roughly the same as yours. -_- At home was around 9-11 mb/s and when i go to my other work i'll post a result.

Yeh not exactly a taker haha, I would recommend either Westnet if you're looking for good service and average speed + average quota's or If you need faster then go with iinet, they seem fishy especially with their mascot Bob but they use quick speeds combined with large download quota's for regular consumers. At my old place i had 400gb a month, wasnt enough for the whole family though seeing as we're all computer freaks.

I have Earthlink provided through Brighthouse and can't really say I have any complaints. They've always treated me well atleast, infact last time there was a hurricane, it took the power company 11 days to restore power, on the other hand Brighthouse had cable and internet service back up and running by noon the next day.(portable gas generators rock btw)

Right now I'm on Brighthouse's standard package which is 10mb down, 1mb up and as you can see they pretty much deliver what they promise.
