Default How do you feel when games are poorly made? - 12-14-2009, 07:16 PM

I'm not talking about simply "bad video games," I mean when video games that are supposed to be great have horrendous bugs or insanely painful frame rate issues.

So? Is it a deal breaker when you learn the game you wanted randomly corrupts your save files? Would you not consider a game that begins to slow way down once there is too many things on the screen? How about when triggered scripted events take multiple reloads to activate.

I always stay away from them like the plague, but it seems fans and reviewers are giving way too many passes on "great games" these days. It was amazing and we gave it an 8.8, oh btw, there is a game breaking bug in it.

It is unfortunate, but I am trying to decide between evil and more evil of two games to get. One is the frame rate dip type of evil and then the more evil one is the kind that corrupts your saves and looks atrocious, which isn't a bug just signs of a bad port.

Which faults do you put up with (because you have no choice)?

So I take it you've been playing Fallout 3.

Close. Thinking about one of either two other Western RPGs, but one I am considering was made by the same people who did Fallout 3, so maybe I should avoid them all together if they have a track record of it....

Ah, I confused them; I thought they made Borderlands as well, but they didn't.

Borderlands has the triggered event problems and FPS dips on consoles. The other one I was considering was Dragon Age: Origins, but Bioware has a track record of glitchy things, I know I am not enjoying KotOR right now... DA: O on 360 is the one people are complaining about the save thing (among other glitches) and I think that is truly the most evil thing in gaming....

Dragon Age: Origins
Is almost bug-free. The release version has hardly any bugs at all. It didn't even crash once or corrupt one savegame.
