Anyone here played or still playing it? Or am I the only poor sod here who's addicted to it.

Sorry, I haven't even heard of Super Robot Wars... What genre is it?

Oh, and when was it produced?

Here's some animated images that I've made...

It's a tactical series, first started way back in the 1990s. Each game features different combination of robots. Example: Mazinger, Getter, Gundam, Macross... pretty much every mech that appeared in anime/games. It's a mech lover's dream, the only downside is there're too many robots, thus the series was never translated for the west. (Too many license, the excuse.)

Damn... isn't THAT the SAME excuse that they've been using for not releasing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom in the US? I'm totally disappointed once again, especially after finding out that the anime trailer for Mirai Nikki I found was purely fan-made and is not serving as an official announcement for the anime adaptation for Mirai Nikki...

Are you willing to download it semi-legally? Since it is not being sold here in the US?

I'm playing Alpha Portable on my PSP. I'm rather enjoying my Ashsaber.

I love the super robot wars series, I played quite a few a long time ago even though I can't read Japanese.

Lately I've wanted storylines too in games, so not being able to read the language was a huge problem.

However, there has been 2 Super Robot Wars that have been made available for US players, developed by Atlus/Banpresto and yes it is in English. (Yay!)

Super Robot Wars: Original Generation and SRW: Original Generation 2

I loved the games and I recommend them to any others who likes tactical mecha.

(By the way, they're for the Gameboy Advance SP)

Also, "Original Generations" is the PS2 version of the game, with new mecha and only available for Japanese. "Original Generation" (without the 's' is the US available gameboy ones.
