Hahaha... I basically gave Weika my word that I would post this and here it is

This is a result of almost a month of my inability to sleep late at night. During those nights of Insomnia, I figured I might as well play "Tsukihime" and even make some notes to Shiki Tohno/Nanaya and the heroines regarding these 5 points, which I guess will be the criteria for points that we will be discussing in this thread:

(1) = comparing and contrasting their personalities, abilities, and actions
(2) = comparing and contrasting their relationships with Shiki
(3) = comparing and contrasting their relationships with the other characters
(4) = comparing and contrasting major details
(5) = comparing and contrasting minor details

Also, if you would like to, go ahead and dispute any of the notes I have down on Shiki. Afterall, I was sleep-deprived while I was typing these notes down.

And here's some extra info:

~Families that Gained Power to Combat Non-Humans by Introducing Inhuman Blood into Their Bloodline~

-Families that Combat Non-Humans by using the Non-Human Blood mixed in their Lineage:

Arima, Kugamine, Touzaki, Kishima, and Tohno

These Familes are enemies... But they have a mutual respect for each other in why they strive for power...
And it is so that Humans are not brought to harm at the discretion of abusive non-humans.

Shiki is the main character of Tsukihime. He has cursed eyes that can see "death lines and dots" in both living and non-living things. The "dot" is the being's existence, if they got stabbed in it, they are completely wiped out from the face of this world. He got this special ability when he was nearly killed by Shiki(2) 8 years ago. He somehow got connected to the root of all things.

Everything in this world is going to die. That is what his eyes are showing him, he is "perceiving" their fated death.
To me, he is just like a walking "God of Death", on when he wants this being/thing to die...he can kill it immediately with his eyes. *shivers*

Shiki met her walking on the streets and felt an urge to follow her in an apartment. At that rate, he wasn't a sane person anymore. Perhaps his demon killing instinct reacted when he saw Arcueid, who is a vampire, walking around. As soon as he got to her apartment, he pushed the doorbell, dashed inside with a knife at hand and sliced her to 17 pieces.

upper right arm (4), lower right arm (5), right ring finger (6), left elbow (7), left thumb (8),
middle finger (9), left breast (10), from the rib bones to the heart (11), 2 places of the stomach to the abdomen (12-13),

Brief Summary of Shiki's Abilities/Attributes that are discovered over the course of the arcs:

(1) - Due to his lineage, Shiki can sense when the people around him are not human. When he does sense such things, sudden homicidal impulses grip him in respect towards such people. But since Shiki didn't know about this until Akiha told him later when you play her Arc, he truly thought that it was he himself that was a homicidal maniac.
(2) - Due to both his latent potential and his near-death experience, He has the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception
(3) - Due to his Assassin Lineage and upbringing, he can kill efficiently w/o wasted movements and with great speed. This is proven during the time that he killed Arcueid. He effectively slipped through her door and while she was still caught off-guard with surprise, he killed her with his first strike at her "lines of death"; he then followed-up by effectively cutting all of her 17 "lines of death" after that. And it all happened within the span of only 1 second. You can see a great illustration of this attack if you play as Shiki Nanaya in any of the Melty Blood games.
(4) - Due to his Assassin Lineage and upbringing, Shiki can move at great speeds. His movement speed is so fast, that he can actually appear to have disappeared whenever a person not used to tracking such speed attempts to track him. He defies gravity as his movement speed allows him the ablitiy to jump from ground to wall, to wall, and/or even the ceiling whenever he employs such speed.
- Whenever Shiki employs this ability, his awareness and mind processing speed is also so fast that he can track things of greater speeds than the normal human is capable of tracking. This is proven when he battled Akiha and was actually able to see her attacks and "kill" them before they did alot of damage to himself. To be able to see the near-instantaneous attacks of Akiha's Purge and actually "kill" them is a testament of great speed. Hell, this was such an impressive display of speed along with his movement speed, that Akiha really seemed to have gotten really sexually aroused during their fight.
(5) - Due to either his Assassin Lineage or his own willpower, Shiki is able to resist the commands of a vampire even after she binds him to her using her blood. This is proven when Satsuki mixed blood with his and then gave him commands, but was then refused by Shiki. This is also proven when Arcueid gave Shiki her own blood and he was still able to stay devoted to Ciel (Although that might be because she didn't get to give Shiki much of it since Ciel caught them lip-locking at that time and then impaled Arcueid with several swords on the spot).
(6) - Due to possibly his Assassin Lineage, his upbringing in the Nanaya househould, and/or the fact that experiencing death once which has enabled him the Mystic Eyes of Death perception; Shiki is an excellent assassin. Because even though he is a novice at feeling the presence of opponents when doing battle with them, he is good at "feeling" his own death.
- Tied with this ability/attribute is the fact that his "anemia" is not anemia at all, but his body shutting down in order to preserve his life. He can sense his own death so well that his body can respond automatically to when SHIKI is trying to harm him using the connection between them that is Shiki's life force.

- Quote from Ciel herself when she battled Shiki and was assessing his abilities in the midst of it:


"Against someone that has a superior self-defense mechanism close to seeing the future, assassination is useless. Trying to attack you from a blind spot was pointless, Tohno-kun."

*Sigh*

"It's a pity, but if I can't kill your consciousness before you feel pain, all I can do is attack with my full-strength. Even if you can see death coming, your reflexes also make it a moot point."

*Creak* (Shiki's either fractured or broken ribs)

"-----You don't look well, Tohno-kun."

*Thump* (Shiki's heart)

"You've been feeling that way for a while, haven't you? Nausea that feels like your heart is being grabbed."

*Shudder* (Shiki's body continues to involuntarily shudder)

"..... Because of the impulse that all living things have that says, "I'm about to be killed.""

(7) - It is discovered in the Akiha arcs that due to his experience of having died once before, his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are only one of the abilities he gained as a result of his brain becoming connected with many more "channels" than the average human. So he can receive and transmit thoughts with humans and non-humans that share any of the "channels" that his brain is tuned to.
- This ability is another way to explain why SHiki was able to witness what SHIKI was doing when he went on his nightly murders.

Near Side of the Moon Arcs

Arcueid's Arcs:
- Shiki remains a human/assassin of non-humans
- In both Arcueid's and Ciel's arcs, Shiki finds out just how powerful his eyes are. In fact, he finds out that he can kill not only physical things, but the very meaning and existense of things due to "seeing" their origin.

Ciel's Arcs
- Shiki becomes a pseudo-vampire due to Roa trying to reincarnate into his body. He can live w/o the need to drink blood, he can walk during the day, his body can take quite the punishment, he has the regenerative abilities of a vampire, and he even has super-strength that rival's Ciel's (but he is still no match against Arcueid at full-strength). But he does have an impulse to drink blood that is similiar to Akiha's when she goes into Vermillion mode, and what with the fact that he already has been trying to suppress his alter ego's desire to kill for pleasure... it doesn't help with his personal troubles.
- In the true arc, he manages to defeat the Roa inside himself and return to being human. But then that's kinda lame, because he then no longer has the positive aspects of being a pseudo-vampire that he had.
- But in the good arc, Arcueid forces Shiki to drink some of her blood so that he will become stronger and be hers forever (drinking the blood of a vampire will turn you into a faithful servant of that vampire with unwavering fealty). But lo and behold, Shiki is actually still capable of independent free will and because of Arcueid's blood, he becomes an even greater-pseudo vampire who does not desire to drink blood and will live just as long as Arcueid exists.
- An interesting thought that comes to mind when playing this arc is that: "Not only is Shiki's life connected to Akiha's life, but it is now also connected to Arcueid." As a result of this, it's possible that not only will Shiki live a life with a life span of an unknown amount of time, but so will Akiha since all three of them have their powers and life sources tied together. And since Roa is now inside Shiki, but has been assimilated into him with Shiki being the dominant controller of the soul, Ciel is still an immortal.


Far Side of the Moon (Tohno Routes)

Akiha's Arcs
- Shiki does not find out about the "Origins of Death" that he can see in the form of "points" and he does not find out about just how far-reaching his eyes are. So he only thinks that he can kill physical things.
- But almost in exchange for not finding out about his own Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, he finds out about his alternate Assassin personality. He finally realizes that he does not have random urges to kill humans, he actually has the "urge" to kill the non-humans that cross his path in his daily life. And that these "urges" actually belong to his alternate Assassin personality.
- His Assassin Personality may be the result of an intentional conditioned upbringing while he lived in the House of Nanaya. But seeing as how he only lived there until the age of 7, it seems unlikely that such a thing happened. Despite the short time that he lived there though, it has been confirmed that his family did teach him the basics of the family's fighting style and assassin techniques. So in the case that his family didn't condition his separate assassin personality into him, it is very likely that his assassin personality is a trait that the heir of the family inherits due to the family's long history of dedication to eliminating abusive non-humans using their own strength as humans. So in this case, he is just like Shiki Ryougi.
- What you find out about Shiki in this arc is that due to his lineage, it is in his very genes to be able to sense non-humans and eliminate them. So combined with his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, he is the ultimate assassin.You could say that along with the usual "basic" 5 senses that all humans have, Shiki also has a 6th and 7th sense.
- His 6th sense is more of an "extension" of the 5 basic senses in which, he can identify a non-human by hearing, smell, touch, sight, and even taste.
- After that, you could say that his 7th sense is His Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. Which is not an ability that he inherited through his lineage, but due to his combined potential in his Magic Circuits and experiencing death once. Like his 6th sense to detect non-humans, you could say that his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are more of an extension of his basic senses. He can definitely see death, he can touch it, but it is yet to be confirmed whether he can hear it, smell it, or even taste it.
- What's interesting about Shiki's encounters with Satsuki in this arc, is that she inquired whether or not he has been wandering around the buisness district of the city during midnight during the last few nights. Shiki hasn't been wandering out late at night, so it must be the imposter that is mentioned in Kagetsu Tohya, or SHIKI Tohno/Roa Valdamjong. This murderer (the imposter) is mentioned when explaining how Akira Seo, Akiha's kouhai at the Asagami Ladie's Academy, met Shiki Tohno.

- The Following is only a theory of my own which I have yet to confirm. This is more of a thought or suspicion that arose in me due to the repeated theme of Satsuki thinking that Shiki was wandering around the town late at night when he in fact wasn't:

(1)- It appears that somehow for some reason, there was a rumor circulating around school that Shiki was wandering around the shopping district in the city late at night. In order to confirm the validity of these rumors, Satsuki went out to the shopping district, and in the late hours of the night, she saw the imposter of Shiki. Thinking that this imposter was Shiki, Satsuki must have followed him and witnessed him killing people. As a result, she judged Shiki to be a person who loves to wander late at night in the city and kill people for pleasure. But this didn't at all lessen her infatuation with Shiki. In fact, the very reason why she became a vampire is due to her being attacked by SHIKI while following the imposter to witness his nightly killings.
- Another interesting thing about this, is that Shiki actually meets this killer and after a small knife clash, they had a very gentlemanly and philosophical killer to killer conversation about society, morality, the world, and just who out of the two of them is the better killer (it was mutually decided w/o a fight to the death that Shiki is the better killer despite the imposter's greater amount of experience).

(2)- It is very likely that the same latency in Satsuki's Spiritual Conception that enabled her to forego the hundreds of years required for a Dead to become a proper vampire had also been acting as an extra sense to tell the true nature of the people around her. It's likely that prior to becoming a vampire, she had the ability to recognize just what kind of people were around her; whether or not they were kind, gentle, selfless, human, non-human, crazy, or have a lust for killing.

- It is due to this ability that Satsuki was able to sense both of Shiki's personalities. The kind, gentle, and compassionate Shiki; and the lustful, confident, and homicidal Shiki. But since she didn't know about Shiki's past and lineage, she was steadfast in her conviction that Shiki is a pure-born killer who desires to kill and nothing else. She doesn't know that his homicidal urges are only towards the the non-humans that are around him (well... even he doesn't know that either...), and that they don't truly belong to the compassionate Shiki that she is familiar with, but a dark and lustful Shiki that neither of them are familiar with.
