I was reading the last Anedoki chapter when I ran into that. Most of the time I understand that girls will play female characters in games, but plenty of guys do the same in MMOs and fighting games. Does the last chapter of Anedoki categorize males who play females in games accurately?

I was playing as Noel Vermillion the past week in BlazBlue learning her more difficult combos outside of the easy, yet flashy combos, I knew. Then I ran into Anedoki - a manga I am following, but instead of reading it right away as usual, I was too busy playing as NOEL. After seeing that page in the manga, I questioned that I may really be a pervert. The past six years in gaming in MMOs, fighting games, and even things like Mass Effect, I've never once played or mained a male character. Even in Tales of Vesperia or Star Ocean I would use Judith or Reimi/Myuria and in the most extreme case I'd play Marta in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World instead of letting her heal Ichigo Kurosaki English Voice actor.

Either way, while I used to main Rachel I did know very basic things with Jin, but after reading Chapter 11 of Anedoki I started to do more advanced things. While I certainly like his flow, the main thing I like about him is "niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-san". That and because he seems a little feminine I think I like him best for the males, but I think that is even weirder than if I just stayed with Noel/Rachel...

There's nothing wrong with playing as the character who appeals to you.

depends on the character's skills, fighting ability is not gender-restricted in most fighting games anyway.. mmo-wise, male clothes are too cool-looking while female ones are too badass..

and i think chiaki would somehow fall for him sooner or later

an example if i want to kill someone,that doesn't mean i'm gonna do it


2.by the logic you explained,if all guys who play girl characters are pervert,then all those who play male character are gay
if one is true ,so is the other

Didn't think I'd have to say this, but this topic isn't that serious nor is the picture my own words - that is from the scanlation. I wanted to see how many guys actually played female characters or even the opposite and their reasons. I've never met anyone in person who said they played girl characters because they are hawt.

Well then, I guess there is a lot of homosexual gamers out there then by your words haha. While I never met one in person, I've heard plenty of supposed heterosexual male gamers who played female characters because "if they have to look at an ass all day, it may as well be a girl ass." I've heard that countless times in MMOs. edit: inb4 someone takes the first line of this paragraph too seriously.

If picking females in games makes a guy a pervert, then I suppose I'm a pervert.
First, is the visual aspect. Would I rather stare at a half naked man in a loincloth, or a woman in form fitting attire? Being a man very, very far from gay, I will choose to look at a female.

In fighting games, through all that I've played since my days of SF2 in the arcade, I've always picked female characters as they're 99% of the time the fastest and quickest characters, and that's the style I like to play. Give me Chun Li in SF and Pai in VF.

I literally just PM'd him about how they may as well close this topic if it was only about the core issue. They can just move it to spam so people can say "I am X and I play blah sex"

But it would do plenty good for any guy out there that criticizes other guys for always picking female characters to see this thread.

Maybe that person will have an epiphany and start their own thread called "Am I gay for always picking sweaty, half naked men in videogames that grunt loudly whenever I attack?"

Gotta agree with space cadet on this if picking a female makes me a perv it seems I've been 1 for many years since the days of the 1st Tekken and Street Fighter games where the females had different array of moves and skills some are even better but I'd choose a half naked female than a half naked guy any day of my life especially with games
