Default Indie games - 09-07-2009, 07:07 AM

Well I was wondering how many here play retro games mostly Rpg's like the laxius force series or the Avenyond series. They are surprisingly long and highly enjoyable! Currently playing laxius force 2. and so far have really impressed by the plot.Anyone else playing this?

I downloaded Aveyond 3: Gates of Night yesterday. I've got school so I don't have any time to play it. I enjoyed the first part, and hope to enjoy the second lol. Oh, and the first two Aveyonds provided much enjoyment.

I've never heard of Laxius Force before, sorry. : /

1st doesn't this belong in the Video Game section?
2nd Aren't Indies game term used for game that where independently developed, which out the support of a publisher, so similar to a garage game. =\

A good example of an indie game is Audiosurf =D

Yeah. Sorry I started this in the wrong section!
I'll ask a mod to move it.

Well those who have played Avenyond and liked the Avenyond games will love the Laxius series.

It has a very strong plot for a retro Rpg and the quests are actually intresting and difficult and the characters are also very well developed...so what more do you need?

All info can be found here-

This series actually had a prequel called Laxius Power(which was atrilogy). They are award winning freeware games and have a huge cult following in the Indie game circuit.
Just google to find out more.

While a retro cannot compare to games like Fallout IT still is am immense pleasure to play
especially games as good as the Laxius series!

We are talking about the original 2 Fallouts made by Interplay right?
Anyways, you play any other indies games apart from retro RPGs?
Like Braid, AudioSurf and Flower?

No I was refering to Fllout3 but yeah if you look at the original fallout games, they do have a few similarities to the retro games but again the combat in these retro Rpg's is a tun based tactical system, same as the Final Fantasy series!

Nah! The indie games I've played all happen to be Rpg's but I did happen to play 1-2 stratergy games.(Forgot thei names!)
