I know this is a bit late, but hey, vacation.

2011 has been a great year for video games, with a large number of solid titles been released and a large number of disappointments (DNF, you being the biggest). Now my question is: What is your GotY and why?

Mine personally? Dark Souls. The game oozes atmospheres and tension. It's punishing but fair. And it doesn't hold your hand unlike many other games released this year. It's a throwback to the days off old where perseverance, memory and actually having skills matter, but unlike old titles, it didn't rely on cheap gimmicks to make it artificially difficult (arcade games, I'm looking at you and your coin eating tendencies). Another solid title from From Soft.

Mine is definitely Arkham City. Arkham Asylum was my goty 2009, and back then I really couldn't think of anything they could've done to improve the game (except for make it longer so I'd never have to stop playing, of course). But then Arkham City came along and somehow, some way, they did it. They improved on perfection. And the amount of content, cameos, easter eggs they put into the game shows real dedication by the developers. So...yeah, definitely Arkham City.

Dark Souls is my #2, though. The game that makes me want to push babies off a cliff but I couldn't put it down.

I'm gonna say my favorite game of 2011 was Skyrim. I loved that game to death. Don't like the number of bugs in the game, but most of them were just funny for me, so I didn't mind too much.

If I had to pick a #2, I'd have to say Catherine.

No doubt in my mind, my pick for 2011 will always be SaintsRow:The3rd.
The action the excitement the chaos, I love it all in SaintsRow:The3rd.
I spent 15minutes running away running towards driving into & over, Brutes with flamethrowers Brutes without a weapon & Brutes with mini guns.

While one of the three gangs were shooting, snipping, running over me or firing rockets & missiles at me.
I almost made it to safety till the army jumped in & hit me with a laser blast.
All this & i wasn't even doing a mission. I've been playing it on two different accounts & i've played SaintsRow:The3rd since it's release day & i haven't been bored with it yet. All without the DLCs as well.
And SaintsRow:The4th will be mine.

For me it would be between Gears of war 3, Sonic genarations, Saints row 3 and Dark souls. But i'm not going to pick one of them to be the top because they were all great games and yes skyrim isn't in my list just never got into it, it's not a bad game it's just the quest storylines are boring i only liked the Dark Brotherhoods storyline.
