Oh it's great, this game. The construction set comes out this month, and niftools are probably going to follow. I can't wait for some Francesco-style mod to come out.
Right now I'm playing dual wield one handed swords, but I heard the shield tree was pretty fun, so I'm going to try that next.

The best thing about this is that it might be a 2011 production, yet it runs on my 3 year old PC, and runs really well.

But yeah, it such a great thing that bethesda lets us muck around with the game so much! It really makes these games last forever. I swear morrowind and oblivion has managed to keep me more occupied than any mmo ever.

My friend Mazzy's experience with Skyrim & part of her review.
My ps3 would have to do the system file check at least 5 times a night from playing skyrim. I had to disable all autosaves. My save file went from 7,776 KB to 11 mb which is killing the game performance. It also led to freezing like you wouldn't believe from autosaving. So I accessed the hidden menu and did a database rebuild. I blame the hardcore for releasing a corrupt video game that NEEDS patching to work right.. but WON'T get it because I doubt they can fix everything or want to fix everything due to the size and complexity of the game. I have completed hundreds of quests now.. and I am not even on THE MAIN STORY QUESTS. I am doing the misc. ones. The Side quests are semi important and I still have 100 of them to go. Every time I complete one quest I find 10 more WHILE doing it.
From what's she's dealing with it makes me say screw waiting on Skyrim GOTY version & just skip it altogether

I'd say skip the PS3 version as the engine that bethesda has been using since the morrowind days has really never been meant for Xbox360 or PS3. Especially not the PS3.
It's a huge problem with how the engine manages saves and RAM. Basically anything you have changed in the game world gets loaded into RAM. That's it. Remember those embalming tools clutter that flew around when you did your fus-ro-da in some crypt? Well the game saves the exact rotation, XYZ coordinates and everything of that.

And that data is loaded even if you're not even in the general area! And it isn't much at first, but you get how it slowly adds up... and sooner than later, the 7 year old tech in the PS3 just can't keep up! They'd just have to delete a bunch of stuff from the game to keep it from being so crash happy on consoles. It's the only way.

Oh yes some dungeons 'respawn' but many objects are plain incapable of doing so. So even if there's a bunch of new spiders moving in, that vase you knocked over? Well that's going to stay knocked over.

What bethesda has done is release a broken product. I'm sorry. I love their lore, I love their games, but every PS3 release they have made so far has been far from acceptable. Bethesda has never ever tried to fix their PS3 releases specifically, and Obsidian (New Vegas) kinda tried, but it didn't help all that much.

TLDR; Play games that are meant for the PC on a PC and not one of the inferior consoles.
