I'm not talking about bugs or crashes in a game. I'm talking about character designs, shoddy environments, cliched plots and cheesy dialogues.

What is it that breaks your immersion in a game spoiling your mood?

For me its stupid sewer and cave levels. I also hate vent crawling unless its used practically like its used in Batman AA and Deus Ex: HR.

It depends on the genre of the game.

For my RPGs if there is bad voice acting I tend to rage pretty hard at it. Along with poor character and plot development. If the characters aren't likeable to play as it also sucks. I mean not just one bad character I'm talking about most of the cast itself.

For games that try to depict realism but fail to do so also piss me off. I know video games are not real but don't say your game is close to reality when it really isn't.

I hate too much backtracking when a game is filled with backtracking it dampers the plot progression of the game and also recycling of bosses( See Devil May Cry 4) Although I had no problems with it because it was supposed to be mind numbing action it still shows lack of creativity.

that's gotta be the company logos. they appear when you launch a game & you cannot skip them and must wait to for them to disappear. I used to edit my PS2 games so that I can get rid of company logos.

Japanese RPGs with forced english dub. I'm so glad that now most games gives you a choice for it... sad part is that the quality of Japanese RPGs went downhill.

Games with extreme (silly) armour designs - like WoW's tier armour or whatever you call them.

How about retarded AI in Crysis 2? Soldiers bashing into walls or aliens that can't get over obstacles. Not to mention the last section of the game where you can abuse stealth and win the game without shooting a bullet. You can whiz past aliens and they don't even notice unlike in Deus Ex HR which punishes you if don't use stealth properly.

Cheating AIs and artificial difficulty.
Company logos that can't be skipped.
Bad voice acting.
Puzzles that can only be solved through trial and error.
Bad cameras that get stuck on objects or fight you over placement.

Frustrating games that I can't clear even on easy, and random puzzles like you on the witcher 2 there can be a million answers no walkthrought can help
