Most Frightening Video Games

I just recently started playing Doom 3 again, and I have to admit that it remains the creepiest, most frightening game that I've played to date. If anyone knows of any games of a similar bent let me know. I like horror, but there haven't been any decent horror movies lately and I have to get my thrills from someplace.

Ummm, with these games I played them all in the dark, with either headphones on, or surround sound running

Dead Space
Fear
Fear 2 (Not as good as the first)
Dead Space 2

That's all I got for now, give me more time to think.

Just becouse of this thread i registered here. Amnesia, it really make you feel "sick" when you play it. And another good "horror" like game is Project Zero/Fatal Frame.

No game are frightening, or so i thought until I rented pokemon snapshot a few years ago. this piece of sht made MILLIONS

I'm a fan of horror games. Got a small list here:

Dead Space I and II
F.E.A.R. series (Fear 3 just got released)
Resident Evil series
Left 4 Dead (not really scary, but it has zombies)
Nightmare House 2 (Half-Life 2 mod)
Amnesia The Dark Descent
Bioshock series
Painkiller
and maybe Penumbra

Amnesia is still the creepiest for me, because you can't carry weapons in the game. You can only hide in the shadow, where you will become insane.

If you like horrors, then you have to try Silent Hill, but not the new games of this great series. First 3 games are awesome - try them. I guarantee you that you will be sattisfied :-D. Btw: Amnesia is good too and first three Resident evils are fun also.
