If it is about strategy games i liked most...
the it would have been:
StarCraft
civilization series (especially civilization 2)
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (I didn't like those after that much)
Z (that old one with robots =))
Gadget Trial (if it counts)
Command and Conquer: Red Alert series (especially the first one)
and Settlers 2 (it was nice to see remake, but original is so epic that any reproduction
is almost sacrilege)

I used to love
dune 2
emperor battle for dune

but I lately enjoy playing around with more complex TBSs,
RTSs are too focused on fast decision making and action
