Read it in the local newspaper yesterday: the PC version of Crysis 2 leaked.
The cause is unknown. This leak is going to cost Crytek millions.
What is your opinion about this. Are you going to download it?

Its been out for a while now. From what I've read, it was originally leaked in a game conference in Ukraine or something.

Of course, Crytek (the company who made the game) are blaming PC piracy, completely neglecting the fact that this is an internal development build, something like this cannot be leaked out to the public easily. So either it was an inside job or they had ridiculously poor security for a multimillion dollar game that's merely a month away from release.

They've gone as far as to consider making Crysis 3 a console only game, so they're also neglecting the fact that piracy also exists on consoles, not just PC, therefore doing so doesn't make sense or much difference.

People are saying Crysis 2 plays essentially the same as what the recent Call of Duty games are like - completely on rails, where it's basically a linear game and you're running down corridor like paths. In other words, a complete departure from the original where there was that element of "take on this situation how you want" in largish open environments.

It's just another game that's been "dumbed down" for consoles (i.e. merging the nano suit abilities so they're basically worthless) and a lot of people have said the multiplayer isn't even that good either.

All in all, this leak has probably given the game greater publicity than it's actually worth, it seems most who've played it are disappointed with it.

Why download an incomplete game? I paid only 30 pounds for Crysis 2 Limited edition. That's cheap.

I just would love it if they did an IP check and MAC Adress check for the Crysis 2 beta users. If they were to find Accounts they never chose for the test and tracked the IP/MAC Adress and banned them I would laugh.

After reading duh's criticism I was already disappointed.
I'll wait for it to release and check it out if the magazines are positive.

They're going to release a PC demo on the 1st March, probably to try and counter the piracy, so you might as well give that a go.

You don't need a particularly fast PC or anything either, the game has been "optimized" for consoles, in other words, they've made all the levels very small (unlike the first game) so it runs well even on older machines.

Yeah it is, there's greater draw distance (as seen in this pic) and other settings, but everyone was expecting Crysis 2 to set the graphics bar once again, like what the original Crysis did.

However, whilst the graphics are pretty decent looking, they're don't have the same "wow" factor and in some ways/places, Crysis 1 actually looks the same or even better.

Still, the majority of these opinions and critiques are from people who've played the leaked beta, so how much Crytek can polish or enhance the final game has to be seen.
