Do it like this:

Find a render of the character,

open it in PS or GIMP (might even work in paint, dunno)

go to color levels/balance/contrast

turn it down all the way

(it would be easier)

problem is, renders are custom made by people. I have to find pictures that are at least semi recognizable poses. If I can't, then photoshop time. I don't spend more than 5 minutes on them either way but I do do it your way if I have a good enough render.

EDIT: No edits makikkaku. It's in the rules =]
