Change a letter game

Like the title says, you change a letter from the previous word to make a different word. Once no new words can be created, a new word will be used...
Ok since this isn't going well, I'll add some rulez.

The rulez:
1. No double posting
2. You are allowed to change any letter to any other letter.
3. It is allowed to add or remove a letter.
4. Changing a letter from position (with another letter) is also allowed.
5. Your new word needs to be an existing one.
6. If no new words can be made, a new word will be used.

Example:
dot
pot
spot
stop
step
steep
...

First word: Start.
