The PS3 is dead...for a day? -

so if you own a PS3 you might have noticed by now that some versions are having some problems.
1. PSN network is not working.
2. Some games (I'm looking at you star ocean) are refusing to work due to trophy errors.
3. Other games are refusing to work due to being unable to authenticate online, even if they've never needed it before (heavy rain in particular seems to suffer from this)
4. DLC is also affected due to inability to sign into PSN.
and 5. my PS3 is for some reason deleting trophy data for every game I put into it.
in other words, if you own a fat PS3 then calm down, Don't Panic, you are not alone.
the most annoying part of this is not just that its affecting a wide range of PS3 (80gig fat versions seem to be most affected, but there are reports of 60gig versions affected too) but that its also affecting consoles with no internet connection whatsoever, despite the fact that its being treated as a PSN problem by sony.
most places online seem to be attributing the errors to a date bug involving this being the first non-leap-even-years-march, so it will possibly solve itself by tomorrow.
