Since I see that others here have a PS3 as well...

I have to say this game is pretty damn good. I am still playing story mode though.

How does it compare to Gears of War?

I've got a PS3 and I can't find a first person shooter that is anywhere near as good as Gears of War.

No where near as sucky. If you got a PS3 and like FPS then just buy it. I'm still playing the single player too. if anyone wants to ad me my PSN: Teckniec happy fragging

BTW, are you able to shoot-intercept rockets and missles that are in mid-flight?

Because the only two titles that I can think of that have this feature, would have to be:

~ Lost Planet

~ Battlefield: Bad Company

I really like this feature, because in my opinion, its very realistic. I mean c'mon!... If you shoot at a missle/rocket while it is in mid-flight, it WILL explode if your shot lands!

And this feature is so cool and handy whenever you find yourself on the receiving-end of a salvo of missles and you have a machine-gun or a shot-gun handy...

The first Killzone was only sucky online, the single player while it had it's problems was still a very good game. The single player here is awesome and cinematic with great... GREAT graphics. It's probably safe to say it's a bit slower and more deliberate than Gears, very strategic with very cleaver AI.

Also: Shooting missiles out of the sky is not realistic, certainly not with a machine gun due to it's velocity and the proximity that you'd have to be in order to hit it would have you shredded by shrapnel even if you could hit it.
