Default Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the new world. - 11-17-2009, 07:41 PM

The release in Europe has completely taken me by surprise. I was one of those who loved the original. I wonder if this is a get now or wait till christmas title for me. Opinions are appreciated.

Ohh, not bad, i'd be interested a lot. If only it was for a different console than some random Wii

It came out in Europe just now?! Wow....slow...
But anyways, I loved this game. Great fan-service IMO
One of the great few RPG's for the Wii....

I honestly hated everything about this game. I was not expecting much from a spin-off title, but c'mon.

It's pretty good for a wii game but

A)They sure beat it with the ugly stick (comparing it to a gamcube game from several years before as well ><)

B)They got rid of the world outside the towns and dungeons in favour of a selectable list.

C)Is it just me or has ally AI either got dumber or the enemies got smarter whilst the allies remained the same? (Nothing quite like watching someone keep attempting to do the healing spell right in the garuda's face, getting knocked out of it and then doing it again, and again, and again...) This may be caused by the new strategy system controlling distance so we have to babysit them in the menus more.

D)Free run is now attached to the guard button so no more jumping unless you count attacks that leave you in the air. (That is unless you have to get a skill to do it)

E)Unison artes don't actualy seem like unison artes anymore, before you would select a arte for everyone to use and they would do it with different combinations sometimes resulting in combnation artes, whilst now, you press G and hope the other guys join in, sometimes they will, sometimes they won't and you never get to choose what they do.

Don't get me wrong it's a good game but it seems like a step back from a 5 year old Gamecube game and that doesn't feel good.

Finally got it today. Emil really is such a wuss in the beginning. Way to make battles difficult right off the bat. I was relieved when Marta and Richter helped with fights.
