The console itself is flawed, every Xbox 360 console is said to eventually succum the the Red ring of death at somepoint. Should have made sure Microsoft built a more reliable console before allowing it's release. I mean some don't even last a year, most old consoles last for ages (My Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64 still work to this day and the N64 has taken a few falls) but the 360 will sometimes conk out after about a year. I mean it's not as if a big company like Microsoft needs all that bad press and lawsuits that the 360 has generated.

I'd like to make a point this isn't a bash against the Xbox 360 so i'd prefer no immature "Microsoft/360's sucks" comments.

I had my xbox for a little bit less than 3 years and it did finally die from the RROD which sucks. I do agree that the console is flawed in this way that they all do die of the RROD unless it dies from something that you did. People don't really care though because they adapt to this failness of xbox 360s by buying 3 or 4 so as to always have a backup.

Think it's because standards as a whole are decreasing and there seems to be nothing stopping companys from building stuff to break just out of warentee.

My megadrive worked for at least 7 years (hell last time we took out my dads old ZX spectrum it still worked) but I've got through 2 360s so far (haven't even bothered replacing it the 2nd time)

I have never stated using that thing.. though they are prejudices, I still hear a LOT of bad things about it... and sinc I don't have money growing at plants or somethinglike it.. I can't just buy anything I like. Therefor I have never started buying/using one.. Through bad publicity

i wanted to buy a xbox 360...but seeing all this i might not...i heard xbox 360 CAN be UNMODDED...from my friend..sth about flashing/deleting the hd or sth...
i still have my ps1 and my ps2...and my sega sth...i forgot if it was genesis...is that the one with cartiridges and a few built in games...

ive had mine last than a year and the disc drive is playing up and sometimes it just turns off so im ognna take it back when ive got a month left on warrenity =] and get moreee warrenity on it for nothing =] which is probs the best thing to do tbh

I think they were trying for to much to fast on the 360,thats why you are having problems with it.But dont think that PS 3 isnt dealing with the same shit..lol..I am a UPS man and I picked up about as many defective PS 3's to send back as 360's.I think Fed-Ex got the account from Sony a few months ago so I cant keep up with the ratio anymore.But the good news is that I have been picking up fewer of them here lately..lol
