Not bad, this one actually looks like it's worth "trying" lol.

I think the last Wii game I bought was ToS2, everything after that I "tried" it first.

Too many bad Wii games out there, even ones that looks and sounds good are mediocre at best.

I don't know, to me it kind of looks like your typical dime a dozen JRPG, nothing really stands out to me, even if it is made by the same guy who made the other Xeno games.

Gameplay reminds me of FFXII, which isn't a bad thing. I hear the storyline has nothing to do with the 'Xeno' series, and it won't even be named 'Xenoblade' when it comes to North America, just FYI.

Yes it will be called Monado.

Jap name is much better imo. Monado sounds... retarded.

It does sound dumb, but then again I think its better than calling it Xenoblade, when it has no connection to the other Xeno games what so ever.
I'll be waiting untill the english reviews come out before I decide to buy it or not.

Getting it dubbed would not be a good idea imo. Sometimes dubs are not trustworthy :/
But importing it from Japan is expensive so... :/

I've actually played through a bit of this game, not that I know Japanese or anything so I'm just kinda fumbling around, but the battle system is kind of cool. You auto-attack a target and you have options off to the side of like specials or abilities that you can throw into your attacking, and from the ones I've had available so far it works on a cooldown system. Again, not 100% on everything that went on, but so far it seems pretty fun, plus I really like games with plot and the Xeno series is pretty notorious for a deep plot line and a ton of cut scenes. If this interests you guys check out Last Story, it drops in Japan in about 2 days and from what I've seen it looks really interesting. I'm sure I'll be trying to make my way through that one too so I'll stop by and give some thoughts on it as well.

So I got my first taste of Last Story today, I can't say I understand a whole lot of what happened, lots of tutorials, which were helpful even though there isn't any English. The battling, surprisingly, seems a little like Xenoblade's, with a couple of differences. The auto-attacking is where it's similar, you run yourself near an enemy and it attacks for you. If the first section I got to play is any indication, this game may become a bit of a dungeon crawler. There's no random battles, and if you see enemies on the field, you fight them right there. One of the characters I got to control also had a crossbow as well as his sword which was kind of cool. The game even told me when I got a head shot haha. From what I can understand, I think the focus of the game is going to be how you approach a battle and working in teams, you can interact with the other characters on the screen so much so that you can jump over them up on to things or over to other enemies. There's a lot of opportunities to hide behind things, peek around corners, and vault over objects. The small bit I've gotten through so far has been pretty fun and I can't wait to see what other skills/abilities come up to use.
