Recommendations:

Legend of Condor Heroes 2008
Return of Condor Heroes 2006
Shanghai Bund 2008
Royal Tramp 2009
Chinese Palidin
Chinese Palidin 3

These are all Martial arts dramas. And of the recent type as well. If that's your thing then go for it, other wise they may bore you. Oh and these drama's rely on the same dodgy CG effects, which annoy the shit out of me, doesn't make em any less entertaining, just somewhat annoying.

TVB dramas are the go if you want the best of the best. The actors can act, the company has an extremely long history, and they don't rely on crummy CG to make up for skill. Legends such as Tony Leung, Chow Yun Fat and Andy Lau began there.

Moonlight Reasonance - Prob as good as tv dramas can get, about family life, some romance, just don't expect Jdrama randomess or Kdrama romantics in it.

I remember watching Return of Condor Heroes 2006 2years ago in like 2 weeks during summer break, because every episode ends in a fucking cliffhanger, so that you cannot stop watching :/
Funniest thing was when my dad spoilered me something because he's seen the '84 version.

Oh that's right, thanks for reminding me to finish Return of Condor Heroes 2006, i've had that stalled for years on my harddrive.

As well i concur that TVB has awesome dramas, especially E.U.: Emergency Unit. The way the plot carried out was mind blowing.

If you can understand chinese and have sky TV i recommend 785 for pcne xP

there's usually some decent drama here and there, though there's no english subtitles at all. Don't bother with it if you only like martial arts though, it's mainly war/drama.

ive seen one episode of "I wanna be a hard persimmon" it was alright and i planned to download it, but the group went down for some reason lol. C-Drama is alright though. I have a sattelite and i get like Star TV? or something? anyway yea i get a fair few chinese channels, sometimes i watch, but i dont understand lol.

pcne is the one with the pheonix (i prolly spelled that wrong).
I watch chinese drama occasionally, though mainly cause i'm chinese.
The best channels for martial arts drama aren't availible over at europe and quite alot of the pcne series have a rather slow going plot.

i get a fair few of the chinese and indian channels + Chinese channel [v]. i also get NHK world and Arirang. Some of the variety shows are quite funny lol.
