I made a Captain thread a while back, and much to my disappointment it got merged with the Bleach anime thread...

Anyways, as of right now, Byakuya is my favorite. He's the third or fourth most powerful, has supreme intelligence, tactical, and as he displayed during his fight with the espada, never loses his composure and makes lethal decisions in a hearbeat.

if you exclude aizen, then I think this is the order of top 5 captains:
1 Captain commander Yamamoto
2 Shunsui
3 Ukitake, if he has a good day (not sick)
4 Kenpachi?
5 Byakuya

btw would you rank aizen over or under yamamoto?

I'd say she's number four.

Well, my favourite captain is probably Byakuya too, if you leave out the ex-captains.

Unohana probably has a huge ass reiatsu and brilliant tactical skills, but her shikai and bankai aren't made for full-on battle I think, but yeah, depends how you rate their strength, by reiatsu and experience or battle-ability

We as fans can only guess at the order of power.

Wiki has them ranked with pie charts from a japanese source, and Byakuya was 3rd.

Unohana actually is an expert at combat. We just haven't seen it and it's never been talked about in the anime. Prepare to shit yourself, but she's rated the most powerful captain overall... and her offensive rating is higher than even Shunsui's.
