This is a filler so it's not in the manga and no it never mentioned Byakuya's father. The manga is good just start where it left off in the arrancar arc.

B/c they're assholes and b/c the anime is catching up too the manga so they had to slow the anime down with fillers.

bit late to reply to this... but....
i reckon it might be something to do with the fact that, the younger the shingami are, the faster they age, so as they get older they age slower.... it would explain how the young captains could grow old but yama-jii stays similar etc

i cant wait for the next ep anyway, i wanna see all the reasoning behind the betrayal!!!!!!!!!
