Hyme of the Flames
Chapter 1 Birth and Death
Atlantes 184.BC
People scurrying around the streets of this mythodic city, nothing seeming out of the odinary, just a regular sunny day. The festival of the moon was to be held in the city center, next to the Church of Akaras in less than 2 days. High Priestess Aleina of the Naz'rals house was busy preparing her recital, she was to open the festivity's when the sun had died behind the peaks of the Tsukan mountains. The rest of the Citedal was just as busy preparing, this was the only event the chruch really had for their own. Besides Eladri, while not as long as the festival of the moon, was more important, it was when Mag'ethrion was created, on a day when the moon shone even during the day, and when it was at its zenith shone as bright as the sun. Mag'ethrion was the god of the blessed moon, the starfire night, the son of Terrazn and Trisma, the creators of the hall of Gods, king and queen of all the known land. A proud lineage to be of, but Mag'ethrion was considered a minor god and was not worshiped like his other siblings.
Aleina pleased with herself walked over to her bathroom, which was rather small for liking, she washed her face sighed and went back to her study. Which she spent most of her time, either preparing for a speech on behalf of her and her Citedal's beliefs or just reading through documents sent to her from the King's library to be studied and catalogued. It seems thats all we have use for these days she thought. Calling for her maid to bring some food from the kitchen, Aleina began to wonder if something different would happen this year, something to bring pride and glory to Mag'ethrion. I don't like this at all she wondered as Jezman brought her a plate full of fruit and a bottle of sweet grape nectar, then making herself scarces. Aleina picked at a cherry apple as she looked over this years speech for mistakes, she may have made the first time around. "Bah, this just won't do, every year it's the same. What can I do, what should I do?.." The room seemed small now, as the light began to crawl back into the shadows of which they awaken from every morning. The feeling made Aleina sufficate in a way, but more than that it made her feel so alone, like every other night she was scared. But she normaly reminded herself that she served under the lord of night, and she should not show her fear to others, it would be like blasphamy. But she couldn't shake this feeling, nothing would break her thoughts, Aleina decided to drown herself with another glass of sweet nectar.
"Are you alright Priestess? Aleina can you hear me? Uhh.. I think she's coming to!" With sudden alarm High Priestess Aleina sprung right up in her bed, attempting to look around and verify her whereabouts, she almost fell right out of her ever so small bed. Coming to, she could see her Cardinals and some healers from the Dal'ars house standing around her, like worried mothers. They keeped badgering her if she was okay "whats going on, why is everyone in here?" still a little alarmed she got up, with out the room following her this time. " Well... when Jezman came to wake you.. she could not, and come 3 hours we started to worry if you might have fallen ill, your Hzmaness" walking across to her window, she looked outside, and to her surprise saw the sun had traveled over her zenith and was nearing the Tsukan mountains. " You know better than to worry over me Ner'ram" refering to the old hunched man talking to her before, " Mag'ethrion watchs over me and shall not befall my health so easily without reason." "Yes Your Hzaness, But you never know." Replyed Ner'ram.
