Default Books!!!!! - 01-31-2009, 06:35 AM

I saw there were no thread about em so here we are. Anyone read much? I do, almost anything as long as it's interesting. However, I am rather partial to works of science fiction & fantasy. So much so that I got bored studying for a B.A in literature (most of my lecturers then in Nigeria figured colonial poets & nobel prize winners were all that defined literature, weird considering how religious & superstitious most of us are, you would think fantasy would be the way to go lol) Got me into lotsa trouble that I had to argue my way outta, practically all the time

PS. Recommendations for novels & stuff like that can go in here too!

I'm really a book fan, I haven't actually read a book with its hardcover for a while now, I do read light novels though and oh, do mangas count? XD

I like to read books....that are on a computer screen, with voices, bgm, and have auto play buttons.

I love sci-fi books too.

I used to absolutely love the Harry Potter series, but kinda got mad at how the story developed at around the 5th book. Oh well, I still finished that series

I also like Christopher Paolini's "The Inheritance" series with "Eragon", "Eldest", and "Brisngr". I really like this series despite some of the predictable plot points.

I've also read books like "Don Quixote" and am considering reading "Lolita" because I hear that there are many revelations to discover from that book if you can push through the fact that it is at face-value, a story about a man routinely raping a child and trying to make her grow into his dream woman.

Here's some animated images that I've made...

Wow, that's a bit much for me. but then again maybe not! big fan of Journey to the West, bought brisngr (just read a few pages tho) I think the amazing thing about the inheritance cycle is that he got published @ 15. Still a fun read. Some of my favourite book series are the Empire trilogy by Raymond E. Feist & Janny Wurts, Katherine Kerr's Deverry series, Terry Pratchet's Discworld (always get a laugh outta reading his stuff), Piers Anthony's Xanth novels & David brin's uplift. to mention but a few
