If you don't understand everything behind the truth, you can't even be sure that the truth you know is the truth that is!

We can't just look at things and assume things.
Well, that's where the limits of knowledge come in. If I'm honest, I will admit that knowing that that particular grass is blue doesn't tell me why it's blue, or
whether other kinds of grass will also be blue. But I can still be 100% certain about the truth that I am seeing blue grass.

That might not sound like much to you. But the converse is also true. If I do not see something, I can be certain that I do not see it, no matter how strong the logical arguments for its existence might be.

- Read some real poetry (the Keats I quoted would be an excellent place to start). If you don't understand it, there are lots of sources of analysis available on the www.
- Don't try so hard to sound like you know what you are talking about. Relax and ask an occasional question, rather than making long lists of assertions.
- Leave the politics out of the discussion.
And in return:

- Grow a spine and find your own answers to the big questions instead of quoting those of better men. You might even come up with something that contributes to the discussion.
- Don't try so hard to prove your own intelligence. No-one cares.
- Leave the ego out of the discussion.

[disclaimer: totally trying to sound mean; pointing people's behaviour out to them doesn't tend to be very productive, but it is a cruel sort of fun]

Oh not at all. Seeing is indeed believing. (although it is concept I often disregard ) I actually for some reason thought of schrodinger's cat.

And people try not to degrade this all into a field to throw insults around, I kinda had really good time in this thread, I don't want stuff to start to disappear. I believe that everyone's opinion worth as much as each other. But in the end they are but opinions.

I do not believe in throwing insults over the internet, because it is the internet.

It is pointless to contemplate the grass as long as you are able to paint it with another color, I guess... If you cannot see the truth, you just have to see it through other truths. Just like when you use spectacles, through which you see what was rather too vague.

schrodinger's cat will only tell you the truth when you actually check its pulse, merely seeing it confirms nothing. The same applies to the world, you have to check it with certain majors. i.e. seeing is not believing, seeing is the beginning of a long analysis, that analysis will lead to either denying or believing.

I'm using "seeing is believing" in a very broad sense and you expand that line of thought.

I like schrodinger's cat. :3 It can be dead, it can be alive, we don't know until we open the box.

Though I hate to so directly disagree with you, the cat is always there. It can never be regarded as nonexistent, or else Acaray's opinion would be true, that we don't know what we're talking about...

"very broad sense" ... It'd be too lenient to consider the "very broad" a "sense" for this discussion, I think...

Haha... true true... Well let's leave it at that.

It seems I touched a nerve. I apologize. Carry on.

"There were 3 sisters, and, a man might ride for days and never set eyes upon such maidens. Marie, tall and grave, and Blanche, petite and gay, and the dark Agnes, eyes that went through you like a waxed arrow. I stayed there as long as four days, and was betrothed to them all; for it seemed shame to set one above her sisters, and might make ill blood in the family. Yet, for all my care, things were not merry in the house, and I thought it well to come away."

Truth and Lie

I have one eye that sees the truth,
Another sees the lie.
Which one is which?
Which one is what?
I pounder up and high.

They always tell us 'bout "right" and "wrong",
Of black and white and where we should belong.
But what about shades of grey, where do they fit in this?
To one man's truth, another is a lie indeed.
And so they squander which is which, until they see it fit.

And when we come the (to a) circle full,
I'll paint this canvas red and blue
And smudge the colours till the (they) sing as one.
And then the world will wonder what to do,
Which one's a (remove it) black or white in endless sea of purple?
I also write because it relieves me of stress and it comes out the way I want it to be. Though its not always perfect but there are some good people here who tries to help me reach that perfection somehow. Don't let criticism, good or bad, stop you from writing. Truth is a tough subject like what your poem is telling me and its true.

Nice work and thank you for sharing. It's a little bit rough yet but I am always looking forward to reading more of your works. It's been awhile since I read a new poem from you and I missed it. It's about time and thank you again TheChaos0.

Thanks for comments. Regarding the 1st point, I'm warping it on purpose here (well you probably know that already) but what you suggest could also work. 2nd point, oups...I managed to make a typo after all. 3rd point, tricky, see I'm not talking of colours per se any more about actual things, events etc.
