Default How to Make Anime and Manga. Let's Form a Doujin! xD - 06-01-2009, 10:52 PM

Hi guys, so I've been looking at "How to..." and other Tut-esque vids and web pages via Youtube and other websites regarding "Animation" and "Manga" and I just had an idea....

Our Anime Forum here is a form of Social Networking. Social Networking brings together people with a common interest, and for us here... that common interest is anime and manga correct?

So how great would it be if we could form our own [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]? And our [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] could make some awesome [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] manga and anime together.

And then someday, we could up our status from "[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]" to a professional [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (group) or even Animation Team! Just like the group, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Thy started of as a Doujin and now look at them, they're a pro group who has given us great anime and manga titles like "[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]" and "[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]"

First things first, I'm going to post all the good websites and video tuts that tell a viewer/reader how to make manga and anime right here in this first post.

Here's a pretty good website that offers some good tutorials and links to other websites that'll help you out in this endeavor:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Here's a Tut from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] on Youtube on how to draw the pics on your PC. Remember, you can also get a Drawing Pad if you prefer to draw using a pencil (But I hear it's pretty damn expensive... xD)

How to draw diary illustration #06

Here's torrents to the programs that [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] used:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]'s Home Page on Youtube, he's an actual mangaka that has gotten his manga, "[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]" licensed. And he's been nice enough as to make some Tut vids. ^_^. Oh, and while you're at it, you might as well read-up on facts about [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or otherwise known as "[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]", which is the term offically set by the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

How to Draw an Anime/Manga Girl: Shading

And do you guys remember seeing [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]'s Fan Animation of Hinata's love confession to Naruto in chapter 437 of the manga?

Hinata's Confession - Chapter 437 (Fan Animation)

Here's a Quick Tut from him on his method of Fan Animation:

Quick Tutorial to 2-D Animation

Here's torrents to the Applications that he uses:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

This guy, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], is also damn good.

Sasuke VS Itachi - 393 - My Eyes...! ( Fan Animation)

Here's a Video Tut from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] on how he makes his Fan Animations:

Making of Naruto Fanvideos

Of course, here's some torrents to the applications that [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] uses:

~ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

~ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

~ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

~ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or you could use the experimental [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]...

~ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

~ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (A program that you can use to do the same tasks as [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. I figured I'd also add this one since Duratrix pointed that out. ^_^)

~ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (An alternative program that you can use instead of Photoshop. It's the preferred choice of Hirohata. XD)

And that's all that I could think of adding to this post for now. If any of you see any good source material(s) that would also be helpful in this endeavor, go ahead and tell me on this thread and I'll be sure to add it in this post... xD

Well anyways... I hope that these vids have been helpful and informative to all of you, and that they motivate you into getting into this and maybe forming your own Doujin... xD

Lol I've got those programs. xD
Except for Manga Studio EX 4.0, I didn't even know of that program but then again I don't draw manga.
Also instead of "Autodesk Maya V8.5", I'm using "Autodesk 3ds max 2008".

Alright, I've now added a torrent link to "Autodesk 3D Studio MAX 2008" in the post. Thanks for the suggestion Dura! ^_^

Hirohata's advice on drawing:
  • Pencil and paper is THE best medium to start off with. Digital media comes later.
  • "Practice makes perfect." You can't expect to draw a perfect character from scratch without any practice/experience.
  • It's okay to start off by copying other artists style/character. Just don't claim it as your own >.>

Also, I think Sai > Photoshop for coloring at certain times~

Very good advice, I can't really put it any better myself. And thanks for the suggestion on the alternative for Photoshop, I'll add a torrent link nao.

@ Hirohata
ditto... programs, tools and state-of-the-art supplies will do nill for yah...
practice, studying basic proportions and perspective [biggest problem people have],
more practice and plenty of experience are what'll get you anywhere...

@Verlaine
these look interesting... headache won't lemme register anything though...
shall check em out sometime...

Here's the official site for SAI.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

It's a cheap alternative to Photoshop if you're just using it for drawing and coloring~

I really like the ability to rotate the canvas, as well as the mini palette~
