I guess it's about time that I posted a full synopsis for my story. Don't really think many people are following it much, so I've lost a bit of motivation but I'll eventually get around to writing it. I've gotten the story completely mapped out, just need to write it. I'll most likely change the story title back to the one that I originally wanted: "The Tears of Paradisa".
[ THE TEARS OF PARADISA? ]
In this world of ordinary human beings, there lives a girl who possesses a very special power - the ability to make anything come true just by wishing for it with all of her heart. However, with every use of this power, there is a price to be paid.
Unbeknownst to the girl, when she makes her first wish, an aura of death begins to grow all around her. With each subsequent wish, that deathly aura grows stronger and stronger and like a virus, begins to infect those around her. One by one, the people whom the girl holds dear die. Suddenly, she is alone in the world and begins to realize the circumstances behind her powers and its curse. She grows afraid. She pushes people away, scared that they will die if they grow close to her. She closes her heart from the world, seeking isolation. As she does this, loneliness and sadness fester in her heart, growing and growing day after day. Soon, she begins to blame the world for her troubles. She begins to hate and resent the world. With each passing day, that resentment swells and grows. Then, on a day that she can no longer contain her hatred anymore, she makes a wish for the world to die.
Almost immediately, a great sickness strikes the world. People inexplicably lose control of their emotions. They abandon logic, replaced by an animalistic desire to hunt and kill. As the sickness progresses, people become more like monsters and less like humans.
In the great city of Tokyo, the girl watches and laments as a culture that has been long based on order, is thrown completely into chaos. As time passes, more and more people fall to the sickness. The streets become unsafe and the city falls into ruin. In this environment, morality is abandoned, replaced by self-interest and self-preservation. People begin baracading themselves in their homes, but fail to realize that this sickness doesn't follow the normal order of Nature and strike those with weak bodies or immune systems - it frighteningly attacks those with weak wills.
The girl watches as the devastation unfolds all across Tokyo. She still hates the world with her heart for giving her the life that she has. Despite that, she travels across the scarred city, looking for survivors and those still unaffected by the "sickness". She knows that in order to survive in this new world, she must gather companions. However, she is also well aware of the aura of death that permeates all around her and the consequences for those who become too attached to her. The girl, along with those whom she meets, look for a way to stop the "sickness". They look for a way to somehow save a world that is about to die. In her travels, the girl learns many things and sees many things - the true "ugliness" of the world and of the human psyche... but in the hearts of her companions, she sees the resiliency of the human heart - the hope it can hold even within a world with no chance of being repaired. This is a story of a girl who hated the world with all her heart, who made a sincere wish for the world to die... but... who will come to learn all the good things about the world... and begin to love it... and believe in it once again...
