The story takes place in a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] where humans live in harmony with gods, resembling humans with slightly pointed ears, and devils (demons in the English dub of the anime), who have more prominently pointed ears. Despite their respective positive and negative connotations, both races are equally kind and good-natured. Ten years prior to the story, the gateway between the worlds of the gods and devils were opened, and since then, people from all races have been immigrating between the worlds.

The storyline of Shuffle! follows the life of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], a normal seventeen-year-old second-year high school student who finds himself sought after by a variety of girls. Eight years prior to the onset of the story, he lost his parents in a car accident that also took the life of Kaede Fuyou's mother. From that point onwards, he began living with her. At around the same time he lost his parents, he met Lisianthus and Nerine at different times who each were accompanying their fathers on a diplomatic business in the human world. Each girl became lost after wandering through the human world. During that time, Rin befriended each girl after playing with them for a day. As a result of his kindness, Rin finds himself as the potential marriage candidate for both Lisianthus and Nerine, the daughters of the king of the gods and king of the demon worlds, who recently transfer to Rin's school at the onset of the story.

About three years ago I had tired to watch this anime, I made it to around where

and then I suddenly stopped; I believe my ideals of anime back then were not as mature as they are now and I lost interest when the drama started to kick in full force.

Yes drama, you can't have a harem without a little of it and this anime has plenty of drama to spend. You have dark pasts for a few of the girls, secret histories that bring about change in relationships, decaying health, and even a mind break or two.

Luckily our male lead has the ability to fix most of the problems he is given, even going as far as to

slit his own wrists to force one of the girls to quit being a stubborn bitch and use her magic so she doesn't die.

I'll say now that the was the anime ended I found boring, it was like they decided to pick the least popular girl from the game and make her the end choice for the anime. I did not like her personality, I did not like her character enough, and I did not see her being the one chosen by the male lead.

My favorite types of harem anime end in a harem ending, all the girls have come to an agreement to share the male protagonist and they are all happy; the end. This is rare in anime, I'm not sure why but it just is.

My favorite character was in fact Primula (no pedo), the way she acts so defenseless (even though she is far from it by the end of the anime), her introduction has her seeming so innocent and sad

Any who, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] gets a 5.8 out of 10

Oh, and if your wondering why I didn't mention Kaede as dat Yandere I love me some; I feel she is only Pesdo-Yandere. She loses it for a bit yes, but thats not the Yandere I love whose mental stability is rock solid. Kaede went a little crazy there yes, but that was more mind break and less "I love Rin. No one else can have him!" *slash slash kill kill*

Just an FYI: Anything 5 and up on my scale passes, I'm not using school system rules where a 50 out of 100 doesn't count. Heres how my scale works:

0.0 to 0.9 out of 10 - Garbage.
1.0 to 1.9 out of 10 - Horrible.
2.0 to 2.9 out of 10 - Terrible.
3.0 to 3.9 out of 10 - Very Bad.
4.0 to 4.9 out of 10 - Bad.
5.0 to 5.9 out of 10 - Just passing.
6.0 to 6.9 out of 10 - Average.
7.0 to 7.9 out of 10 - Good.
8.0 to 8.9 out of 10 - Excellent.
9.0 to 9.9 out of 10 - Awesome.
10 out of 10 - Perfect.

Thus far I have only ever given two animes a 10 out of 10, and only one anime a 0.0 out of 10.

On another note, this series just seems like a crap ecchi series. Of course, I've been wrong on that assumption before (Onegai Teacher) but I've never heard anything good about Shuffle.

Ehhh, I know it had some ecchi bits to it and it starts off really funny and action like; but this anime is just one huge drama show after another. You couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting drama someplace. Although the drama is no wheres near as sad as Kanon, comparing the two seems appropriate.
