Which .Hack do I start with?

I was wondering if any of you could tell me which order they go in? I would really appreciate it!

(1) Infection
(2) Mutation
(3) Outbreak
(4) Quarantine

Assuming you're talking about the original "series" on the ps2, that's the order.

Well since you are in the anime section of the forum, I'm assuming you are talking about the anime. I would suggest starting with .hack//sign. I think that was the first one they made. Then .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet, then .hack//Roots.

Yeah it is great, especially if you watch while you play the games. The first four gams also had .hack OVAs as well. It really is a great series.

Albeit, I'd suggest you avoid the .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet anime. You can read the manga instead, though, there's no harm done in not watching it at all. LOTTB doesn't really advance the plot, it's just adorable. It doesn't even require that much of backstory to understand, you really just need to understand how the characters look and their roles in the plot (i.e. "This kid looks like the game's main character").

Again though, avoid the LOTTB anime. The manga's great, but the anime is horrible.
