Default High Resolution Anime - 07-25-2010, 01:48 PM

Is there a max resolution for animes released during certain time periods, or is what has been released.

Just wondering what type of resolutions the source footage of anime is.

I have heard that anime does not truly play in 720p/1080p. This source was from Dattebayo subs. For ages fans asked for them to play a better quality than 480p but they are firm by saying that it is not so. Feel free to take a look: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
To be honest I see the difference in 1080p or is that due to the CGI added? I will be interested knowing if anybody has an answer.

That was meant for bleach/naruto and its kinda of old,but that doesn't mean that there is a 720p broadcast i am not really sure of that.

tho there has been some good quality show's which broadcast is too good to be called 480p.

japan only broadcast in 480i and 1080i. not sure about dvd's and such but as far as broadcasted shows its one or the other. the 720 thing is just something fansubbers have picked up over the years.

btw the dattebayo thing is that certain shows like naruto and bleach are broadcasted at what is called SD up. Basically its just the broadcasters taking a 480i show and stretching it for there 1080i broadcast station. Some poeple think that those shows should only be released in 480 because the 1080 is "stretched".
I personally don't see any issue with it since if anyone has watched a 1080i ts file the quality is vary nice usually and everyone is going to shrink it down to 720 so it will end up looking fine but again that's just my opinion.
