This... THIS is the main point I've been trying to make this whole time. Oh, and did you notice, arthur, how saying something rational leads to a bloated reply filled with accusations? Pretty sweet, huh?

Exactly. Most anime every year in history is crap, with a small percentage of truly great ones.
"Anime needs to get back to the times of originality like Mushishi!!" Shall we forget that the year Mushishi came out there were 100 garbage series as well?

In the end, this is the only truth. The people that get annoyed with a comment like that are the cynics that sit back and bitch because they think they're too intelligent for anime that isn't Perfect Blue.

Stuff you said I accept:

2. You seem to be arguing without fully understanding what your addressee is saying.
Who do you think you are to simply lurk around acting like a mediator while telling people what you accept in their argument towards someone else?
Do you really percieve yourself as standing upon that high of a pedestal?

And #2 is a comment you serioulsy need to be telling yourself. It seems that regardless of how intricately I explain something, you're going to just be a clydesdale marching down the street while leaving piles of crap behind you.

Yes you will because you can't take others opinion as their opinion but an attack against your way of thinking

There's a gap between attacking individual tastes and stating one's opinion.
Basically you described my taste in anime as wrong, stupid and mass-driven.
Things like this are difficult for cynics to accept when all that sits in their heads is that their ideals are correct, and anything else is misguided.

3. ??????????
4. Profit (literally)

This is why more and more moe, fanservice and ecchi anime have been growing into the industry. In the end it's those companies that get the green. The public, in this case the japanese public, encourages more of those types of animes to be produced.

Don't get me wrong though, I don't have ecchi anime per say but they should definitely tow down a bit. Some shows like Golden Boy were pretty amusing to watch.

tl;dr version : people need their moe.
My point with this thread is that step 4 doesn't seem to be happening like it should. The anime industry is not doing well, so it would seem that the decision to give moe lovers what they want is not helping studios in the long run.

Opinions regarding anything differ from people to people.Take for instance K-ON which you so lovingly bashed. The simple trails and everday hardships faced by that music club and the sheer joy the show expresses felt very deep to me and there's nothing you or the rest of the world can do to sway my opinion.(No,not really!)

There's no need to force your opinion onto someone else or ridicule their taste just because you feel you are intellectually superior to everything out there.

...and no you discussing anime doesnot piss me off, rather I was chiding those who were forcefully promoting their intellectual superiority by bashing others tastes and such but I guess it was not complex or too deep enough for you to understand and as to why I bothered to read what's written in this thread, lemme say I'm a mod and it's my job too keep tabs on people like you so that they don't overwhelm the rest of us downtrodden people with your intellectual superiority!(and I rarely do my job)
My only goal in calling you out was to get you to write a post like this. So thank you for obliging me.

This thread isn't about me feeling superior to anyone, this thread is about a notable regress within the anime community that I so adore. I do not feel "intellectually superior" to you.

"People like me"? People with opinions and who can provide reasoning for those opinions? You have absolutely no reason to be upset with me but you, a moderator, have shown up and antagonized me for having the audacity to share an opinion. I don't think moderators should be doing that.

Accepting the validity of opponents' points while arguing other is common in debates. Just because I'm acknowledging some of your points to be valid (which you actually accused me of not doing when you asked why I didn't highlight the logical points that you had), that doesn't mean that I am placing myself on a pedestal.

Only in one post to Kurosaki (number 25) and the last one do you argue against the correct point by arguing that the anime industry has always been full of crap. Everywhere else, you argue that many anime (including anime that Saecryd lists as good) aren't original or deep but are still good, and more recent posts stating that people's opinions differ. But Saecryd is arguing more about the loss of innovation and substance in anime in general over time and its effects on the industry. They sound similar but are different. I'm saying that you are throwing arguments that differs from Saecryd's original point (he/she actually acknowledges many of your arguments to be true, but you don't seem to be getting this.)

If you think Saecryd is talking about what you are talking about (originality/intelligence), feel free to quote him. As you said, the thread stands as evidence. I know I can find many quotes that support my interpretation of Saecryd's argument.

Aren't you the one holding yourself on a pedestal by not checking whether my argument is true, but only stating "I already explained it and you don't get it and that's your problem, after all I can't be flawed in my interpretation of what people are saying since I already read it once"? Every time someone posted a viewpoint in response to mine, I honestly evaluated my position and asked whether I was incorrect or not, and looked through the thread to find quotes to support my conclusion.

I doubt my words will be received properly, but I tried. (<-- this is me being pretentious right?)

Edit:
Let me make this clear. I am not bashing your opinion or anyone else's. I simply find moe to be unappealing (which leads me to use the term moe-trash) and I find moe-shows to be void of substance other than moe, which leads me to dislike the show. This doesn't mean that I think everyone that likes moe are idiots, just that they have tastes that I cannot comprehend. I am actually open minded, and not some "cynic" who belittles everyone else's opinions. This argument wasn't even about opinions until people began to zealously post BE OPEN MINDED ABOUT OPINIONS. You however seem to be determined that I am such a person and that you are infallible in your judgement of my character.

What you are doing is not just simply sharing an opinion but provoking every other person who has a differing opinions and frankly I believe we've had enough of that.So I won't even dignify your comments by answering and since you still believe in your absoloute righteousness you should go air these thoughts and opinions of yours elsewhere because in here stuff like this gets you banned.
