Then you're wrong on multiple counts and you don't realize it. It's kind of cute in it's innocence.

Things like Rosetta Stone do not teach you the subtleties and nuances of the language. Sure, you might recognize some words here and there but you'll never be able to truly keep up in a conversation unless you surround yourself with native Japanese speakers and make regular use of the language.

And no, anime Japanese is not like regular, every day Japanese. You'd have to be incredibly sheltered to believe otherwise.

I think we are arguing about two very different things, and I'm sorry to have mislead you.

When I said 'lol, I find that hard to believe', I did not mean I find it hard to believe that japanese people and anime sound totally different, in fact I agree with you there. They probably do sound different.

I was arguing about the fact that if you know and can speak the japanese used in anime, then you would still be able to converse with japanese people. And I'm not talking about perfect japanese, just to be able to converse and understand each other.

Sorry for misleading you, but if I'm mistaken and we were arguing about the same thing and you disagree with the above statement, then I honestly believe you are wrong.

You'd definitely recognize some words and phrases if all you learned was anime Japanese but you'd never be able to truly keep up, is what I'm saying. We seem to agree on some level but disagree on just how far you can go with anime Japanese.

Is there any?
Why would they make anything like that in Japan?

True,
Anime isn't really the best way to learn japanese though, but the most popular one, (although no1 really speaks perfect japanese when watching anime) the best solution? Real life. College/Uni/School/Or W/E.
BUT!
That doesn't mean anime learns you nothing, it might help you with some basics but you won't be able to make a fully conversation with someone from japan
Also, watch lotsa animes and you'll start with learning japanese.

You will pick up on words for most things just from watching anime. Put no matter how much anime you watch, if you don't pick up on the structure of the language itself, you will never truly know it.
