Untrue. On an ocular level, one may find FLCL as nothing but one giant sexual innuendo with some non sequitur humour thrown in for good measure. However, upon closer inspection (basically several more viewings), you'd be surprised to see many messages there are on the subliminal level. FLCL is actually a touching coming-of-age tale that resonates deeply with the teenage soul. Its frenetic pace and over-the-top execution make this a little harder to notice though.

It is when you have to see 5 times to find it's hidden meaning. Animes are meant to be enjoyed not studied...

Going back to topic, it seems like you are refering to episodic animes. They are not that often when it comes to most of the genres (there are still some, like mushishi, kino no tabi, most of casshern, etc...), but when it comes to comedy, most of them are like that. And since harems are comedies in the 99% of the cases... well, you can understand why it's stupid to start naming them.
