I've got to say i prefer mature animes with a slice of life element and some supernatural/fantanastical/futuristic twists thrown in...
...also some romance and a little comedy wouldn't hurt as well

But then again i also like all-out action, supernatural, crazy gore-fests...
...so maybe it's not the genre that grips me but the story, "progressiveness", character personality and what-not. In which case all genres are my favourite

Comedy and horror. Sometimes romance is alright if it's thrown in there, not as the main focus though.
