Kanon; sad overall. Clannad; massive sadness combo. Dango, dango, dango, dango... the only song that made me depress, since The End of Evangelion.

My vote goes to X (TV, movie was horrid), not as sad as it's manga counterpart but sad enough.

I don't like this topic. It should be something like, "which anime had the most sad scene number wise and by sheer drama by each?"

I can't list anything normal because I don't believe they were overly sad as a whole. With that, I can name a few sad scenes that were burned into my memories.

Really? Those are one of the "wow..." scenes imo. I don't really see anything sad there.

Different views. I don't really think some heart broken person is that sad. Big "Wow" scenes are way more sad. I think what Lelouch did to Shirley was more sad than most of the "sad scenes" in plenty of the listed shows here.
