Default Turn A Gundam - 12-07-2009, 03:27 AM

Okay I'll begin by warning you guys that I've only wathed the first episode, so I don't want too many spoilers.

But the reason why I made this thread is... wtf? It doesn't seem much like a Gundam at all, more like England in the 1920's. Surely there are some epic battles involved? Or have I picked a bad one to watch?

Another gundam related question, what is the most recent gundam that has been produced? (APART FROM 00)

Well Turn A Gundam is really old school. It still has some pretty good battles but its nothing like the flashy newer Gundam show's. Think of it as more of a war drama with giant robot's One big plus is that Turn A Gundam has pretty much the strongest gundam in the whole gundam universe.

I've heard the name but that's it...if I liked Gundam Seed & Gundam 00, would I probably like this? Up to what episode should I watch to give it a fair chance to see if I would like it? I know you said it wasn't as flashy... I can live with that...are the characters good though?
Oh, and any recommended fansub group?

I am a die hard gundamn fan.

My view is predisposed to go for the, "Don't knock it". To add on what Zee mentioned its the last one that Tomino directed (he is the creator if i remember correctly) before all the other ones started (Wing, G, Seed, ect ect). Yea- it's in the CC (correct calender i think) and it's more primal instead of high tech like what we're used to. the drama in it- wonderful. mood- less depressing then others. the characters?

Guin. All I can say about him is.. he's very.... realistic. (I also like Zack the best in FFVII even tho he ISNT there, and Wufei, who also ist there, in Wing). I mention those because I know I have an odd taste.

if u watched any other Gundam series you'll see very common attributes between them, besides the mechs.

as for most recent i know theres alot of short one shots based off Gundam called Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO 2, havnt seen it because i still remember the Animatrix.

I thought Turn A was alright at some points but overall was rather disappointed.

However, it seems to be praised well enough so don't let one opinion bog you down.

I haven't seen it yet, but i'll probably watch it after finishing wing.

As for ichigo's question, the previous gundam to 00 is gundam seed destiny... unless you count things like gundam seed stargazer and such.
