Default Major Kemono no Souja Erin Question - 09-29-2009, 11:33 AM

dont get me wrong
Kemono no Souja Erin
is a good series but
my biggest issue/question is

why do the ppl in power who control the beast
*i am at remembering names*
make the people of the mist keep the white beats healthly
and if a beast is killed, the mist person is also killed

-----

its like asking prez obama to be protected by poor people
*i got nothing against the poor but just making a point*

---
thats the question that i had throughout the entire series thus far

The village didn't make "people of the mist" take care of the Touda. It was a special, single circumstance that Erin's mother came to that village and took the position of caring for the Touda.

It seems that both Touda and Oujuu are highly prized in the society of this story and considered the direct property of the Grand Duke and Queen, respectively. If one of the beasts die, it is considered the responsibility of that beasts caretaker ,and they will be punished regardless if they are Kiri(mist) or other race.

Soron was the only Mist person to involve herself with caring for the Touda, the Mist people as a whole seem to have deliberately cut themselves off from everyone else with what seems to me to be good reason, and it has been revealed that Soron was in fact responsible for the death of the Kiba since it is a Mist village edit that captive Touda not be allowed to reach breeding age. As for the justification for her being executed for that, medieval people lived a very cheap existence and execution was a common punishment for even minor offenses.
People in power have always been cowardly in putting others in harms way before themselves, look at modern leaders, if they were required to take up a weapon and lead a battle from the front lines they would be less likely to put lives on the line stupidly and the world would be a much more peaceful place than it currently is.
