Default Do you rage or despair while watching anime? Share! - 09-23-2009, 01:50 AM

I just wanted to see if people cared about characters in anime(/manga) as much as I do, so I'll explain what sometimes happens. This is a place of spoilers if you want to talk about exact scenes. Just list the show name, then spoiler tag it up afterwards.

Ichigo 100% Manga - I didn't approve of the ending. I raged pretty hard and I realized there was no hope in the world. I normally watch anime or read manga because of the romantic themes of hope and fate, but I was so depressed after finishing it. Kurosaki Ichigo on this site said it made him die a little inside (I believe it was him), but I wanted to die a little.

Anime wise, I've never wanted to yell, but I am not too embarrassed to talk about teary moments. I cried twice watching Kanon (2006) and while I can state the exact episode numbers, it would be best not to, but I think it is easy to guess which moments. [it was my first show of its kind, so I was caught off guard] The other time was near the end of Clannad ~ After Story, but not at parts people would normally think of crying.

Clannad Crying Moment (Hardest in my life I might add *blush*):

When Tomoya realized his father was actually a good guy after years of his coldness for him - doing his best to give his son even the smallest good things in life like candy. To cope he falls to alcoholism ;-;. That was when Ushio was with him at that park or whatever ;-; and when Tomoya gets watery eyed I knew I couldn't hold my tears back.

Any tales from your viewing? I'm proud to say I've broken zero keyboards watching anime, but I believe I've thrown a few things and banged my hands on the table reading Ichigo 100%. I could add I can't watch the last episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann without getting watery-eyed, but that is because the themes that have been expressed are so beautiful and everything comes full circle in the end.

My sister said it is good that I can feel for the characters that much even if they are fictional, but I'd like to see if people either don't care what happens for their favorite characters or if they are too embarrassed to say they've cried watching a show =D. Or nerd raged.

I wanted to throw my laptop across the room. I have never been so irritated by one character. Just thinking about it makes me want to falcon punch my laptop.

I have school days on my laptop, and I've heard some bad things about Makoto too. I better be careful

Few times have I ever gotten irritated to the point of dropping a series over one character as I did with that blonde haired whining loli in Honey and Clover. There were times I wasn't sure if I'd make it...

Haha I haven't felt emotional enough to break things but there have been moments in a few anime I've welted up with Clannad's probably the only one I can think of at the moment and Kanon 2006 there were times but no moments of rage I can remember at the moment besides School Days, I've pretty much forgotten most the anime I've watched so will need to come back to this later

Low quality motivator... pfff.

And Kanon 2006? I raged cause I hated ~Uguu, boku Ayu~ -.- So many people talk about how good the series was but I didn't think anything too good about it

The ending to Code Geass left an impact on me. It's as powerful and shocking as it gets in anime. No tears, but they may have been suspended out of disbelief.
