I used to feel embarrassed. I'd only read manga when I was alone (outside) and I never told people I liked it. Then someone caught me reading one before a class and when I tried to hide it we talked about what anime we liked. They said "since we're asian, there is nothing to be embarrassed about", but I don't think it is a race thing at all. You can't help liking a hobby and since then I haven't cared when I told people and asked if they liked it as well. I feel embarrassed for people when they say something like, "uh no, I only study and do normal things". I am proud to say I like 2D, Giant Robots, and hourglass shaped bodies (for the anime girls). 3d is disgusting and has useless robots!

well,it's different everywhere.for example in turkey most people even don't know what anime means.Ppl who sees anime just says 'hey are you watchin' cartoons at this age,aren't you a grownup young?'.They say cartoon not anime coz they don't know.
When it comes to tell others that I'm watchin' anime I wouldn't shy coz I've my own reasons,see my english sucks so I'm watchin' them in order to improve my english

Np. Plenty of people say what I type is crazy, but as a person who means what they say - I feel a little embarrassed for you. When I question my own beliefs by asking others to question theirs, sometimes it may seem like trolling, but it was never my intention and I only try to strengthen my beliefs or discontinue them. I don't see the point in people like you who troll so blatantly.
