So... Gonzo is about to close their online shop ~ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (closing september 30) and are basically giving away a lot of their volume DVD collections (black cat is like 20 cents lol)
and... they dont even have a single anime being produced for the fall season. In fact, they dont have anything being listed to be produced after their airing shows finish (saki)
so... for better or worse, looks like Gonzo is about to go the way of the dodo.
personally, even though *most* of their stuff was shit, the few gems they put out were definitely top caliber stuff (NHK, Full Metal Panic, Seto no Hanayome, etc..). So, i will miss them, even though they were directly responsible for completely mutilating rosario vampire.
RIP Gonzo.

God's in his heaven, All's right with the world.
Well maybe if we're lucky maybe someone else will pick up the rights to FMP and Roario + Vampire and we'll get a new season of FMP and a remake of Rosario that follows the manga better.
You have to see the silver lining in the mushroom cloud.
Gonzo only did the first season of FMP, with KyoAni doing Fumoffu and TSR, which are both better, and means there can be more FMP in the future.
@smileydude
They indeed are the ones that made Last Exile. Now your tears of sorrow can be official.
They're also the main studio that did Claymore... and anyone that's seen it knows the level of badass that anime is... in spite of the kick to the balls ending.
Seeing as buisness practices are pretty similiar the world around, when Gonzo officially goes belly up, one of the first things they'll do is try to sell off rights to franchises in an attempt recoup whatever losses they can. I'm sure theres atleast one or two studios circling Gonzo like sharks in chummed water.
