Default Anime Remakes - 08-25-2009, 12:08 AM

So what do you guys think of anime remakes? Is there one you liked? One that you hated? Is there one that was the right one to get you hooked on the series? Is there an anime you want remade perhaps?

If the remake is for the better, then of course there should be one.

For me, the new FMA is the best example. This time I'm actually enjoying watching it and it barged right into my top 5. I can say I'm hooked.

And being remade? Guess that's every anime I didn't like, but that's asking to much so I'll try to think about one I was very disappointed with... And I can't think about it right now. Trying to recover from something that scared the living shit out of me.

Remake Ronin Warriors.
Animated by Gainax Studios.
Directed by Shinichiro Watanabe.
Soundtrack by Yoko Kanno.
No filler.

Am I asking too much?

For me too, this remake is pretty awesome and I love the way the story develops.. it might be beacuse i never read the manga... but a remake i actually had mi expectations on was Dragon Ball Kai..... I don't really know if you can call that a remake...Or al least you could call it a remake beacuse of the new opening and ending and because it has no fillers... But I'm still watching it you know... Cause... Dragon Ball .. is DRAGON BALL....

Wait... so FMA:Brotherhood is merely a remake of the first one? Does that mean I don't even have to watch the first FMA to watch Brotherhood?

I agree 100%. And what is it that could scare you so much?

FMA Brotherhood follows closely to the manga, while the first FMA anime is made up along the way. I suggest watching both to see the real difference.

You wouldn't have to watch the first FMA... but YOU SHOULD. It's one of the best anime series you'll ever watch, regardless of how Brotherhood ends up. Personally, I'm waiting for Brotherhood to end before I start it so I don't have to wait a week to see an episode.

When I knew about FMA2 I was like "what? the first one was awesome and it's pretty recent..."
but now I notice it's really good and better in some ways so... gimme more xD

Almost everything else is welcomed, but with measure; we don't want the anime industry to swim in remakes...

remake bleach with no fillers and all directed/produced by whoever made the show in the first place. anime has gone so much downhill..... the manga is undeniably epic though
