Default Read the Novel/Manga and have no will to watch the animated version - 01-08-2012, 10:33 PM

So I only read these things for story and when i try to watch a new anime thats supposed to be awesome i can't bring myself to watch it, as I already know the story so it leaves me uber bored.

What are your guys reason to watch it?
And any tips to still enjoy the anime version?

As i saw another anime this season i cant watch because i have read the novel "highschool DxD"
other time is was the manga stares at "fairy tail"

There are often differences between manga and anime. Sometimes small or purely aesthetical, sometimes they are completely different stories with only some characters and the world being shared between them.

Anime generally is stretched out (all that reminiscencing in the longer stories, which makes it kinda irritating), but seeing what the characters are doing "in between" is something new, in a way. Sound as well is something that manga can't give.

I find that it is more fun for me to read the manga and then watch anime, rather than reverse, though.

My suggestion to watching anything is...what are you looking for?
If you want to find out every detail, then focus on different things that you did with the manga. You can actually notice different things watching the same episode multiple times alone.
Emotions (be it comedy or drama) are likely to come out on their own, if they did the first time, too.

Basically, just don't think that you already saw it before. Look at it as something fresh, with some expectation of it on which you should focus.

That's my opinion though.

I agree with kikix, though don't have too high of an expectation less you'll be disappointed (like how i read Hidan no aria novel and manga b4 watching the anime)

For me, I want to see the characters animated. At the the very least, you get to hear their voices thus you can portray them in your mind better when you continue the novel/manga. Maybe that is one of the reason I won't get bored. Seeing the characters 'come to life' and how they would actually react to the situations.

Others include...maybe action? I mean novels like Infinite Stratos, where they have mecha (IS), can only go so far with imagination unless the illustrator drew every single IS introduced in the series (with the various upgrades/new equips as well)

Either read more or less. More= read so many manga that you can't possible remember all the details to any specific one. Less= this really means not at all.

When someone reads a manga that they enjoy it's only natural to want to see those characters brought to life in some way most notably an anime. The reality is that we want to see those characters in a setting we are not familiar with. Even if the anime is different then the manga it's usually not enough of a difference to compel you to watch. My solution is that I read over 100 manga. 40 of which I keep track of on a regular basis. Though admittedly some anime are still spoiled. But I'm one of those types that skip ahead several times in an episode before I watch the whole thing so it can't be helped.

As for useful tips there are none. You either can both read and watch a story or you can't. You just need to figure out which category your in.

Well i know what you mean. You read the manga and when you want to watch the anime but you have the plot already in your head and couldnt be stuffed watching cos you know whats gonna happen next.

I know this sounds dumb but I guess to fix this problem would be to read the manga and then leave to anime of that manga to watch like 2 or 3 months later so you have the plot kinda forgotten...If you know what i mean... Or you could just watch a different anime to the the manga you read or something i dunno =P

What i did with bleach is i read a few volumes before watching the anime...It kinda work at some stages but in others it didnt =P

Anyways hope this help =)

pretty much id go for the manga/LN for the story since animes tend to twist it abit though watching them move can be entertaining too

It's like not going to a movie adaption of a play because you've seen the play. The two are different forms of entertainment and most fans in Japan LIKE IT when something they've read gets animated.
