2011 Anime of the Year

Its pretty much the end of the year and its time to put your favorite anime series/movie of the year on the pedestal for display. You could also choose your favorite character of the year which necessarily may not be from the same anime you chose for the annual award.

It'd be also insightful if you stated why you chose that particular anime above everything else this year offered.

My favorite anime of the year is Hanasaku Iroha simply because there was no other anime that I waited for every week with unabated breath. This down-to-earth slice of life tale truly took me on a fun roller coaster ride through a kaleidoscope of emotions.

Realistic interactions and believable characters topped off by a touching story and a beautiful ending makes this an obvious choice for the best anime for 2011.

Also, in my book, Ohana Matsumae tops every other female protagonist this year.

i liked Kore wa zombie desuka, Steins gate and boku wa tomodachi, i simply can't have just 1 anime which is best because a lot of anime differ from animation and story.

Quite a few good ones this year, too hard to choose... I would go for Iroha though.

Steins;Gate
The awesome Summer thriller that Mind F***'d, while still adding depth and drama.
Lab coats, cell phones, microwaves, Gel-Bananas, conspiracy theories are good every once and again, and perverts- ahem... Perverted Gentlemen and Women.

As for favorite character...I can't choose one at the moment.

There's A LOT of good series this season so I'm going to cheat and say multiple, but they all rank the same in my book so order doesn't matter.

Steins;Gate and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai were 2 of the best I have seen this year. Couldn't wait to watch them. So says Kyōma Hōōin.
