At first I thought the whole thing was rushed, but I guess they're just trying to make the dragged out parts in the novel as short as possible, to get to Maria's letter fast, that's when things start to get interesting.

The Opening and Ending themes are great, and I absolutely LOVED the commercial break animations, they're EXACTLY the same as when you advance a chapter in the novel.

Yeah, the game certainly drags out the start alot more than was necessary (although I'm not complaining). Since there's only so much they can do within the anime timeframe it was a reasonable progression. But then, it wouldn't really make a heck of alot of sense to those unfamiliar to the series.

I think the pacing and development of the next few episodes will be much more important than what was in this first episode though. Can't wait till next week already.

1 i hear maria's seiu and keep thinking lol index lol touma touma lol
2 the simibad translations on the posted episode i loled hard at it
i actually have a lot of commentary and thoughts that i wanna post but im holding back big time as not to get annoying with the super longs post and to not scare away potentially new fanz with my rabbied obsession with umineko no naku koro ni that gos way beyond being unhealthy

well when i watched the first episode i was like: wtf?? is this a mix of agatha christie's Hercule Poirot story and a horror movie that has to do with devil contract-soulseeling story.12something ppl locked in a isla in the middle of a storm every1 has a reason to hate the person next to him,a very large amount of gold,a dieing man witch knows the secret of the gold, an evil witch that has come to colect the dept.damn this story looks like it's f@cked up pretty good lets hope it keeps that way.
