Yeah, they seem to float alot, don't they... Still I can't actually read them so I'd be using a translator every single second so no dice. No harm done since the anime is really entertaining.

I'm not too sure about this show..

I was rushing to finish Higurashi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx kai, but I saw that girl at the end of one of the Umineko episodes then someone gave spoilers in a thread on another site about that isn't Rika, but spirited something or whatever haha... It didn't help that someone linked me to the Synopsis of the third Higurashi (the OVA yeah?)...

So since it spoiled my experience with another show, I think I'll have to stop watching this one, despite thinking it was my second favorite airing show.

you should know that onikakushi-hen (the original game) sold over 100k copies in japan, thus leading to subsequent funding and success of production of the rest of the higurashi series. since the live action's announcement, over 500k copies of higurashi VN have been sold. it's popularity earned itself manga, anime, movie, drama-cd, novel, ps2, ds adaptations. edit: since higurashi is a doujin, it makes the numbers even more impressive.

umineko = higurashi on crack

that having said, since you're already "not too sure" about the anime, i very very much suggest you read the visual novel instead (yes come to the dark side). the only thing the anime's got that the VN doesnt is... it moves. if you want good music, storytelling, general epic aura, or (spoiler for onikakushi-hen)
