I don't doubt the last episodes needed way more time. Episode 23 is like 5-6 episodes in one, and the best 6 to add. I don't think i've ever seen a worse rush than that.
Still, I was following the project for a long time before it was released, and not even once they said that it was going to be a 51 episodes anime. In fact, like 1 year before it was released I already knew that it would bu an anniversary of BONES project, and that it would be 26 episodes long.
So i don't think it was something that cought them in the middle of the way. The mistake was something they planned from the start... regretfully.

And the pace of the first 16 episodes was just perfect.

I don't believe it was the emperor in the end.
Personally I think Haru's words and feelings reached him after talking to him during the years and he remembered who he was eventually, turning from stone back to normal.
I don't believe she just imagined it either. I felt it had good closure.

I was totally mad when I finished it. How come they didn't kiss?!?!?! (K, lol. Not that serious, but disappointed me). But indeed, would be a total master piece if it had the 51 epis, i'm not sure if there would be any fillers. The plot just seemed so rushed up with only 25 epis that I guess 51 would really be necessary.

Since it's been a long time I've seen this anime, I don't quite remember the name of the character, but I really was impressed by the scene he killed himself chopping his own head, one of the most impacting scenes in my opinion.

There was like NO character developement in this.
Maybe except for Furuichi.

Anyway, the ending was bullshit. atleast it was satisfying knowing she didn't die lonely.

Damn, just finished this, I'd like to know what would happen furthur. I felt it was a lil bit rushed..

But still a beautiful anime!
